Matar Rice

Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice
1/4 cup frozen peas
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon rai
1/2 teaspoon jeera
Pinch of hing
1/4 teaspoon haldi
Salt to taste

Process

Wash the rice and let it soak for 1 hour.
Heat oil in a thick bottom pot.
Add rai, jeera and hing and allow it to splutter.
Strain the rice and add it to the pot.
Add haldi, peas and salt.
Mix well.
Pour hot water (approx 3 cups, adjust based on type of rice).
Cover and cook till rice is done.
