3 Cups idly rice (par boiled rice)
1 Cup udad dal
Salt to taste
Wash and soak rice and dal separately for 6-7 hours.
Grind dal into a very fine and fluffy paste.Next grind rice into a paste.
Mix both and add water to get the right consistency.
Add salt and leave it to ferment for at least 8-9 hours.
The batter is ready to make idly, dosa and uttapam.
