3 cups hari matar (green peas)
1 tomato finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon rai
1/2 teaspoon jeera
Pinch of hing
1/2 teaspoon haldi
1/2 teaspoon lal mirch
1/2 teaspoon dhania powder
1/2 teaspoon maharastrian garam masala (Optional)
1.5 tablespoon finely grated dry coconut (sukhi gari)
1 tablespoon gud (jaggery) (as per taste)
1 tablespoon hara dhania (coriander)
Salt to taste
Boil matar with some salt till its cooked.
Heat oil in a pan and add rai, jeera and hing.
Saute onions till its soft.
Add grated coconut and sprinkle haldi, mirch, dhania powder and garam masala.
Add chopped tomatoes and fry till its soft.
Add boiled peas along with water.
Pour hot water if required to get the right consistency.
Add some salt to taste.
Bring it to a boil for 3-5 mins.
Garnish with hara dhania and serve hot with bread or rice.
Tip – This dish can be relished as snack too.
